Open the hood of your car and locate the wiper fluid reservoir. It is typically a clear plastic container with a cap labelled with a wiper symbol.
Before adding more wiper fluid, check the current level in the reservoir. Most reservoirs have markings indicating the minimum and maximum fluid levels. If the fluid is below the minimum level, it is time to add more.
Choose a fluid that is specifically formulated for use in vehicles and can withstand freezing temperatures if you live in a cold climate. Some washer fluids also have additives for bug removal or improved cleaning.
Unscrew or pop open the cap of the wiper fluid reservoir. Be cautious as the fluid inside may be pressurised or hot if the engine was recently running.
Slowly pour the wiper fluid into the reservoir using a funnel if necessary to avoid spills. Fill it to just below the maximum level, allowing some space for expansion during temperature changes.
Securely close the reservoir cap to prevent leakage and contamination.
To ensure proper functionality, turn on the windshield wipers and activate the wiper fluid spray function. Check if the fluid is being sprayed onto the windshield and if the wipers effectively clean the glass.
